We made it (at least 2/3rds of us did)

We survived the journey back to California. We stopped in Arizona along the way so I could attend my 10 year high school reunion. I'm so happy I decided to go. I was a little on the fence about the whole thing....I wasn't exactly Miss Popular in high school. It was so great to see everyone that attended and I missed those that didn't make it. Everyone chatted with everyone....big change from what high school was like (or at least my perception of high school). I think I was one of the most changed as far as looks go. A lot of people in town did the double or triple take and made comments like, "Wow, you sure look different than you did in high school." I guess that's good???? Anywho, I'm wasting time at work blogging (I'm such a sneaky girl). Better get back to it before the bosser catches me. ;)

Go west young (wo)man!

So say the lyrics of a great Liz Phair song. After the longest year and a half of my life we are moving back to southern California from the not so great state of Maryland. Under normal circumstances I'd say something like, "It was great while it lasted", but alas, it has been anything but great. I do love my next door neighbors, but I could do without the murders about 100 yards behind my house, the gunshots, the police helicopter (we like to refer to it as the ghetto bird) flying over my house on a nightly basis, as well as the various fine establishments that line the highway behind my house **cough cough, bars, liquor stores, the hourly Royal Inn hotel, and the "non-family-friendly" video stores if you get my drift cough cough**. Addison and I will begin our adventure west tomorrow and Rich will follow with the U-Haul in a few weeks, then he'll fly back here to go overseas for work. Don't ask me where he's going because then I'd have to kill ya ;). Actually, I don't even know specifics and I will say that I don't really want to know specifics, otherwise I'm likely to pull the wife veto out of my back pocket if I know all the dangers associated with the job....eeck! So wish us luck and don't expect a post anytime soon as settling in seems to take me months rather than weeks. I'm so excited thinking about ocean air, manicured lawns and neighborhoods.....even the rush hour traffic! I know, I'm a sick person aren't I?

This whole blogging thing?

So I guess it's time I get with the 21st century. I'm so un-tech savvy it's not even funny. I'm the girl who didn't learn how to text message until about six months ago. Still can't work a video camera or a DVD player. So sad. :( Reading my friend Katie's blog...I've finally been convinced that this will, at the very least, be an outlet for me to talk....even if no one reads it. So here goes......
